Appeal for witnesses

On the afternoon of Sunday 14th April 2019, in the field behind the houses to the right as you drive towards the pub coming from the Exeter direction, two dogs were seen worrying livestock (herd of ewes) and the attack was so severe that 10 ewes have died as a result. The attack went on for over an hour and this was witnessed by several local residents.

Police are very keen to speak with any witnesses of the incident and ask that they call 101 or email [email protected] quoting CR/32795/19 passing their details and what they are able to tell Police.

Does anyone know of the owner of these dogs?  One dog is described as all black which is smooth coated but a long haired tail.  It was a medium to large sized and most likely to be a collie cross or similar. The other dog was a large terrier type dog with a white body.  It had a long fluffy tail but its face was so covered in blood, that any markings were unclear. The dogs would have returned home clearly exhausted and most likely covered in blood from the attack.

Police need to identify the owner of these dogs and we ask that any information that does identify that person will be treated in confidence.
