Whilst not technically dining out it is still possible to drive and collect a takeaway. If you are not due a food delivery for a few of days, would rather not visit the supermarket or the prospect of another meal cooked from the random ingredients you find in the fridge is unappealing then ordering a takeaway meal might feel like dining out in a Michelin Star restaurant.
Many of the large takeaway chains such as McDonalds, Nandos and KFC have closed because they were finding it difficult to enforce social distancing rules. Some of the smaller dedicated takeaways are still open and two of our local pubs have recently started to offer a takeaway menu:
The Lamb, Longdown
Offering a range of simple and affordable dishes to eat from the comfort of your own living room. “The Lamb at home” menu includes Sticky BBQ Ribs, Wild Garlic & Mushroom Linguine, Chicken or Beef Burger, Stew of the Day and more.
The full menu is available here. Orders can be placed over the phone by calling 01392 811 100. They are open Tues-Sat 5pm-8pm, Weds-Sat 12pm-2pm and Sunday 12pm-2:30pm.
Teign House Inn, Christow
A little further afield the Teign House in Christow have also announced their takeaway menu which includes Fish & Chips, Burger & Fries, as well as a variety of curries and drinks.
You can check out their full menu here and they are open for their takeaway service between 5pm and 9pm. We advise calling to pre-order in 01647 252 286.
If you know of any others offering a takeaway service then please let us know. Supporting a local business during this time is always important.
