History was made at the Longdown Village Hall on the 12th September 2022 as the proclamation in Holcombe Burnell and Longdown formally announced the accession of His Majesty King Charles III.
The proclamation was ably read by Cllr Charles Eden, the chair of the Parish Council. The previous proclamation was read in 1952 which was 19 years before the Village Hall was built.Â
A book of condolence was signed by many of those in attendance. The book of condolence has now returned to the Church of St John the Baptist and will be available for signing until Her Majesty’s funeral on the 19th September. Â
