If you hadn’t already noticed, there has been plenty of traffic lights in the village over the last few days. National Grid are completing extensive work to replace the old poles and cables that carry our electricity. The work will hopefully improve the reliability of our electricity supply for the winter.
You can expect road closures and delays in various locations until the 22nd December. Here are the details:
28th November – 9th December
Delays possible due to lane closure and traffic lights on Longdown Road between Perridge Cross and Milfra/Hedgeways/Modbury.
5th December – 9th December
Delays due to CLOSURE of Chapel Hill during daylight working hours, between the War Memorial and the BT Telephone Exchange.
The alternative, signed, route for vehicles will be via – Road from Marks Cross to Perridge Cross – Bakers Hill Ide – Road from Providence Court Farm to Wheatley Grange Pocombe Bridge – Tedburn Road Pocombe Bridge – Five Mile Hill – Road from Barton Head to Five Mile Hill Cross – Road from Barton Head to Holcombe Barton Corner – Road from Holcombe Barton Corner to Chapel Hill Holcombe Burnell.
12th December – 22nd December
Delays possible due to lane closure and traffic lights on Longdown Road between Woodlands/Beggars Roost and Cavendish Farm.
