Meet with your neighbours and friends, play killer skittles, join in the fun quiz or just have a chat and a drink in the Longdown Village Hall bar.
Come and join us on Sunday 10th March at 7.30pm.
Village social evenings at The Lamb were very popular last year and a great way for villagers to meet old friends and make new ones.
We would like to invite you to The Lamb on the last Thursday evening of every month when you can be sure to find some of your neighbours enjoying a chat and a drink.
Our annual Jumble Sale starts at 2:30pm on Saturday 23 February in the Longdown Village Hall.
Always a popular and well-attended event, raising money to help run the village hall. Please support us by donating your unwanted items and coming along to buy other pre-loved goodies (and have a cuppa with your neighbours).
Please bring any jumble you wish to donate to the village hall. If the hall is not open you can leave bagged items under the porch (protected from the elements!)
This weekend saw three great events in the village. Saturday morning kicked off with the Big Breakfast and Bazaar at the village hall. Many of us enjoyed a cooked breakfast, browsing the stalls and having a chat with their neighbours. Over £500 was raised for good causes.
The village hall then hosted on Saturday evening the Barn Dance. Renowned caller Jeremy Child made sure everyone got on the dance floor and joined in with Chris Jewell’s live music. There was much fun and hilarity while everyone – from young and old – tried to master the steps.
Finally, The Lamb hosted another local’s evening on Sunday. This festive get together also saw a very good turnout, with the village website being shown to those who hadn’t seen it yet and some good discussions about future village events.
We would like to thank everyone for their support and attendance at all these events in the village this weekend – and would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas.
Following the fantastic evening at The Lamb on Sunday 21 October, and taking on board much of the feedback we received on the night, we wanted to let you know about the next social evening.
It will be held at The Lamb again on Sunday 9 December from 7.30pm. Please join us again for some festive cheer with our neighbours.
We also hope to share updates with you with regard to communications improvements for the village.
In the meantime, please do take a look at the village website and Facebook page and let us know what you think.
