Remembrance Day Service

This years Remembrance Day service will take place at Holcombe Burnell Parish Church at 10.55 am on Sunday the 14th November.

Candles will be lit for the fourteen villagers who gave their lives, whilst their names are read to the congregation. There will be an opportunity to remember all those who have given their lives in war both then and since and recognise the sacrifice they made for their country. Everyone is welcome.

Included in the list of those for whom candles will be lit are some particularly poignant stories. Henry and Anne Browett lost three sons, Henry, Reginald and Archibald. Christy and Virginia Sargeant lost two sons, Christy and Ralph. Second Lieutenant Paul Francis William Studholme of Perridge House was killed taking part in the first and only cavalry charge of the Great War on October 1917. He was only 19 years of age.

Please come and be part of this special service.
