History was made at the Longdown Village Hall on the 12th September 2002 as the proclamation in Holcombe Burnell and Longdown formally announced the accession of His Majesty King Charles III.

It has been announced by Buckingham Palace that HM Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully this afternoon, 8th September 2022. The Parish Council and the people of Longdown and Holcombe Burnell are deeply saddened to hear the news of the death of Her Majesty.
